Dear Country Coast Users,
Firstly a big thank-you to all our loyal Country Coast portal users, in particular those that still continue to use it as their home page. The Country Coast portal was an initiative of the Wide Bay Burnett Regional Organisation of Councils (WBBROC) back in 2005/6 and was funded through the Australian Government?s Sustainable Regions Program. Following a recent re-focus of activities by WBBROC to core local government business they have agreed to transfer the ownership and ongoing site development and maintenance to the Wide Bay Burnett Area Consultative Committee (WBBACC). WBBROC have also decided not to proceed with the ?Country Coast? slogan for the Wide Bay Burnett region and henceforth this branding will be discontinued.
The team at the WBBACC has been working with Catalyst Media over recent weeks to rebrand the site to ?
Wide Bay Burnett Online? and from this point forward the URL will change to
www.widebayburnett.com.au. We do however encourage everyone to continue to use and visit
Wide Bay Burnett Online as they have done with the Country Coast portal and we will be doing our best to make sure all of the features and functionality that made it your preferred site before (local news, local events, Google search) are retained in the future. We also intend to add a new feature ?Regional Development & Investment? where we will post news and contacts for business and industry looking to expand or invest in our region. This section will also be used as a repository for important regional documents that can then be accessed by people wishing to undertake research and business planning activities in our region. This part of the site is currently under development so be sure to re-visit soon.
Welcome to ?
Wide Bay Burnett Online? and be sure to email us at the WBBACC if you have any suggestions on how to improve the site for all users in the future.
Regards
Cameron Bisley
Executive Officer ? Wide Bay Burnett ACC
